Brief Description:  Ground Power Plug - Installation

Finding a location for the Ground Power Plug was *way* harder than I thought it would be. I agonized for what seemed like hours trying different areas down near the battery. Every location I tried required that I fabricate a bunch of heavy brackets and add a wad of hardware just to get the GPU plug in an accessible place.

Then it hit me, how about just cutting an oval shaped hole in the side bulkhead and rear mount the GPU plug. After a trip the hardware store for a circle saw cutter and some filing and some more filing and then some drilling and then some more filing, the installation came out *perfect*! The location is very accessible from the rear seat area and it is completely out of the way and out of sight normally.

Given the way the GPU plug is wired into the system, there is *no* power on those three plug pins when its not connected to a remote power unit. So, there are no precautions necessary in covering them with an access plate or enclosure of any kind.

That big red plug in picture #2 will be connected to a set of "jumper cables" and connected to an external battery or charger for running the electrical system on the ground for extended testing, charging the battery, or for starting the engine if the battery is dead.
