Anyway, on Serial Output #5 on the HX, I have "Autopilot (NMEA0183)" selected to communicate with the VP-200, Autopilot, and FuelChec DX, etc. So, I configured Serial Output #8 on the HX to be "Autopilot (Aviation)" to communicate with the ELT. I'm using Serial INput #8 for the GPS2 data from the secondary GRT GPS module. Fortunately, the baud rate increase to 9600 made it compatible with the ELT.
BUT, when I selected "Autopilot (Aviation)" on Serial Output #8, the HX complained that there was a "Serial Port Conflict: Same Outputs on 5 and 8" and DISABLED the output on Port #8! If I disabled the Port #5 output, then the Port #8 output starts up.
So, I guess I need a GRT HX patch to allow Autopilot (Aviation) and Autopilot (NMEA0183) outputs on two different ports. Seems like the error from the HX about the output types being the "same" is erroneous. I emailed GRT about this whole issue and they said they will work on a patch for me. That's what I call great customer service!
