Brief Description:  Fuselage Interior Priming & Painting - Part 1

When I checked on the fuselage today at the paint shop, they'd masked the external surfaces all off and had sanded and cleaned all of the internal surfaces already. Just as I arrived, the painter was starting to apply the etching primer. Its very thin and a very light gray color. When I checked back later, he had just finished spraying the black paint and it was still wet.

Wow! That's a lot of black painted area! Quite a contrast from the original aluminium color, that's for sure! Some of the "blotchyness" in the pictures is either shadows from the flash or the fact that it was still wet in some spots. It looks really nice and I'm anxious to take it out in the sun to have a closer look. It was pretty dark in the shop and looking at black paint didn't help.

The fuselage should come back to the nest for final assembly tomorrow. Test flying has never been closer!
