The AHRS is the essentially the electronic gyro that drives the EFIS displays and provides attitude information. The AHRS has to be perfectly aligned with the aircraft's notion of level both fore and aft as well as left and right. I mounted the AHRS on a shelf behind the instrument panel and the center EFIS. It is also behind the VP-200 red box on the front bulkhead. Removing either the VP-200 or the center EFIS allows for either front or rear access respectively to the mounting screws on the AHRS. Small washer shims can be installed as necessary to bring the alignment into exactness. I aligned the AHRS pretty well during the initial installation, but its nice to have the ability to make small adjustments if necessary.
