Brief Description:  Labeling Canopy Side Panels - Part 1

I had originally had the fiberglass canopy side panel silk screened with the "Experimental" and "Open/Closed Latch" insignias. But, the silk screen over the textured black paint just looked like, well, crap. So, I sanded the sides down again and had them repainted and then had labels similar to the instrument panel and others made for the side panels. Boy, am I glad that I did! The labels look really cool and blend very nicely with the paint. Also, my final location and alignment of each turned out to be significantly different than what I had originally spec'd out for the silk screen.

I had to come up with some sort of jig to mark and cut out the labels. The clamped straight edge worked out nicely. I trial fitted the side panels up onto the canopy frame to locate the labels and to see how they looked. Pretty cool, I think...
