Brief Description:  Baggage Area Avionics Mounting - Part 01

Since I've got way too much avionics to mount behind the normal instrument panel, I mounted a good deal of it on the front of the baggage area bulkhead. This worked out well on the first fuselage and seemed like a good idea on the new one. There were a few changes, however. The old XM Weather receiver is getting replaced by a NavWorx ADS-B transceiver that not only gives weather information like the XM did, but also give air traffic information as well. It connects to the EFIS displays and will actually display little airplanes on the screen that are in my vicinity. It's pretty cool. The best part is, however, that its free! Well, the box isn't free, but the service is. The XM Weather was costing me nearly $60/mo in subscription fees. With the ADS-B, the service is provided by the FAA, so your tax dollars are paying for my subscription now! Did I say thank you? Finally, a SWM gets something FROM the government! Go figure.

Anyway, with the new gear, I had to come up with a slightly different mounting scheme for everything. I also learned a few things the first time and so this time I kind of took all of the "I wish I hads" into account. I am very pleased with the layout and was able to get everything mounted with plenty of room for wiring pass thoughs.
