Brief Description: Canopy Bezel Fabrication - Part 01
I like to put a sheet metal bezel around the front of the canopy to reduce the screw-stress on the Plexiglass and to finish off the appearance of the canopy. I still had the cardboard template I used on Ruby 1.0 and, fortunately, it fit pretty well on Ruby 2.0. I laid it out on a sheet of aluminum and used Dremel cutoff wheels to cut it out and then a giant file to smooth the edges down. Once again, the hole-finder worked out well in locating and drilling the holes for the screws. Finally, I dimpled the screw holes and installed with the #6 screws. I'm pleased to say that it looks really nice and fits about as good, or maybe even a little better, than the Ruby 1.0 installation.
