Brief Description: Windshield Mounting & Bezel Fabrication - Part 02
From there, I drilled and tapped the roll bar and then added the #8 screws. I added three platenuts to the left and right top skin rear bulkheads and brought the bezel down tight against the sides.
Overall, the whole thing came out amazingly well. I really like the looks of the aluminum bezel in comparison to the traditional fiberglass lay-ups.
The last step on the windscreen will be to make a fiberglass bezel around the front-bottom, but this cannot be completed until much later in the building process. The top skin must be riveted on before the lay-up can be done, and that doesn't get riveted until nearly the end of the building process.
All I can say is, whew; am I ever glad this part is done...
