Brief Description: All New Metal Windshield Bezel Yet Again - Part 02
|
|
Thursday I agonized over my previous night's decision. "I don't want to hate this airplane just because I didn't fix this problem," I thought. "I've built 3 sets of elevators, 2 rudders, and 4 front baggage doors during this rebuild to get everything 'perfect'," I further reflected. Every time in my life when I have settled for something as far as workmanship, I have regretted it; a lot. So, Thursday night when I came home from work, I'd decided. I was just going to accept the consequences of redoing the metal bezel. If I cracked or scratched the windshield during the process, I was just going to do another one. If the fiberglass bezel cracked or delaminated during the process, I was just going to do it again. Having a perfect metal bezel was just too important in building a perfectly straight airplane to just let it go. I headed out to the workshop and got the screw driver out and started removing the old bezel. Much to my amazement, I was able to completely remove it without scratching or breaking anything!! That was encouraging...
