Brief Description: Windshield Seam Touch Up & Primer Sanding - Part 1
The seam between the fiberglass and the metal bezel got a little touch up today, evening it out a bit and making it a little bit deeper. It is somewhat analogous to the stress seams in the side walk and will give it somewhere to crack that's not noticeable if a crack feels it needs to present itself. It also kind of just embraces the notion that there is a nature seam there, rather than just putting a giant glob of fiberglass over the whole thing trying to pretend that it doesn't exist. I think it looks pretty nice considering what were trying to do.
After that, all the primer around the bezels got a nice feathering and sanding and blending and all of the layering effects from the various layers of glass and filler all got nicely smoothed out. I think it came out really nice. Totally doesn't even look like a blob of fiberglass on the top, but rather a sleek fairing that is part of the metal. At least I think so, anyway... ;-)
So, all that's left is one more light coat of primer and that pesky windshield is done! I can hardly wait to pull off all the tape and check it out!! Maybe tomorrow!
