Brief Description:  Backbone Wiring Schematic - Version 1.17

Whew, it took longer to draw than I'd hoped, but the electrical backbone wiring diagram is mostly complete. It documents all of the high-current wiring from the battery to the starter and to the VP-200 including support for the Ground Power Unit (GPU) plug. Also included are the 5 Emergency Bypass circuits. These enable the pilot to switch the Radio, GPS, Main EFIS, and Intercom systems to a direct feed to the battery in case there is a catastrophic failure of the VP-200 or other part of the electrical system. Each is switched through its own dedicated breaker. I have also added a Redundant 20amp Alternator to the system. This Redundant unit is driven off the engine case through a gear. The Primary 60amp Alternator is driven off a belt on the front of the engine. The VP-200 system monitors the status of the Primary Alternator and will switch to the Secondary Alternator if there is a problem with the Primary. The VP-200 will, at that time, also shut off unnecessary loads such as lights and radios to save energy and keep the load within the capacity of the Secondary Alternator. Pretty sweet.

So, now its off to the Shop to implement the design...
