Whew, what a job. All of the 3/8" aluminum tubing is now done for the fuel system including all of the 37 degree flares. I haven't permanently secured all of the connections with fuel lube yet as I want to take it all out later for painting. The Airflow Performance fuel pump system recirculates fuel back to the Selector Valve so the plumping is pretty complicated. I also added two FloScan 201b flow transducers on the output of the fuel pump to later connect to the Matronics FuelChec DX and to the GRT EFIS system for fuel flow readings.
From a schematic sense, the fuel comes in from the Left and Right fuel tanks to the Selector Valve. Because the RV-8 is low wing, fuel can only be drawn from one tank at a time. From the Selector Valve, the fuel goes into the Fuel Filter (large golden cylinder) and then through the two bulkheads to the input on the Fuel Pump system. From the Fuel Pump System, there is a return line that goes back to the tee in the output of the Fuel Selector valve. I believe this loop is to allow the fuel pump to make the required high-pressure for the injected engine, and allow the pump to continue to circulate fuel even when the engine is at idle. From the Fuel Pump System, the fuel line makes a big loop back and then goes into the first FloScan transducer, then the second Floscan transducer. Out of the second transducer, there's a right angle fitting, then a fancy tubing loop to the fitting on the firewall. On the outside of the firewall, a flex-hose will connect the fuel line to the engine driven fuel pump.
I learned a lot about how to (and how not to) bend aluminum tubing. Over all, everything came out very nice and I am pleased with the look and function. Next I have to bend and run the fuel vent lines. This is out of 1/4" tubing vs. 3/8" for the main fuel lines which should making bending a little easier.
