Brief Description:  Aeroquip Hose Fabrication - Brakes - Part 1

I custom made the high and low pressure flex lines from the bulkhead fittings down to the Master Cylinders using standard Aeroquip fare from Van's. They weren't too hard to fabricate actually, with one exception. On the instructions, there is no torque callout! And, come to fine out "Too Tight" isn't much different than the amount of torque needed to actually screw the fitting into the body of the connector. Case in point, I made the first three hoses (6 connectors) without a problem. On the forth, I somehow over tighten both connectors and now they just spin. I took them a part and sure enough, the internal threads are stripped. I'll have to order a couple new connectors - at $21 each, by the way - and fab up one new cable. Other than the torque issue, they came out really nice and are really pretty easy to make. Good to know for any future engine FWF requirements.

NOTE: Invest the $75 in the installation kit! It makes installing the hose into the Orange fitting about 100x easier!
