On the heals of a near perfect rear canopy construction, I opened the canopy just now and hear a strange sound... Closer inspection revealed a 6" crack in the $%#$@#@ canopy!!! HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN!? IT WAS PERFECT! #$#%@#!@#@#&!!!!
Update 1: This was totally my fault. I had removed most of the screws in the canopy to allow for taking off the side skirts. I put back just a few to keep the canopy in place. The mistake I made was trying to open/close it with that few of screws! The Plexiglass just cracked at the one screw where there was a lot of outward pressure. Word to the wise.
Update 2: I ordered a new replacement canopy from Van's on Wednesday 11/26/08 and it should arrive first part of next week. Hopefully I can use the old one as an initial pattern to, at least to some degree, reduce the amount of work necessary the second time though this process. By the way, this was a $1000 mistake with shipping, crating, and canopy cost.
