Brief Description: New Tailwheel & Steering Arm - Part 1
I saw a sweet new steering arm for the RV at a recent flyin. Instead of the dual set of chains and springs going from the rudder control horn down to a tee-control arm on the tailwheel, it was a single rigid arm with a single large spring in the middle. I've heard that the setup is much more positive than the stock setup:
I also happened on a new tailwheel which is about 6oz lighter than the stock unit and about 1" taller in diameter. The best part, though, is that it has little stationary hub-caps that protect the bearings inside. Also, they can be painted to match the rest of the plane. Pretty sweet.
