Brief Description:  Wheel & Brake Installation - Part 2

Mounting the wheel on the axle was pretty simple, and screwing the axle nut on was a no-brainer. I used a 9", 1/8" drill bit to drill the cotter-key holes in the axle. I highly recommend this procedure, as I was able to drill the holes perfectly square to the axle, and didn't grind up the wheel with the chuck.

Now I have to decide if I'm going to mount the wheel pants next. That's kind of a big, messy job that I'd rather put off. But, now is a good time while the fuselage is up on the saw horses and in the level position. If I wait until much later - like after the engine is mounted - its going to be a lot harder to get the wheels off the ground per the instructions for mounting the wheel pants. I think I've just talked myself into doing it now. I could wait and jump into other more fun things right now, but the wheel pants are going to have to be done some time, might as well be now, I guess...
