Brief Description:  Left Fuel Vent Line - Part Duex...

So I was drilling 3/4" holes in a path along the lower fuselage to route the #2 AWG power cable. Everything was going so well, then I got to the Left Gear Tower. I picked a nice spot and set the drill a werrrrrr... I poked a nice hole in the rear of the gear tower. But, then I went to put a nice plastic bushing into the hole and noticed some unusual shaving in the hole. Closer inspection reveled that I had perfectly drilled right into the left fuel vent line that is ever so painstakingly bent, flared, and installed INSIDE that left gear tower!! Imagine how mad I was? No, way madder than that!! What a giant pain in the rear to pull out the old tube, rebend, and reinstall. With the instrument panel installed its almost impossible. With the windshield installed it *would* have been impossible. From a serviceability stand point, those tubes inside the gear towers are a pretty bad idea, Van's... Anyway, all's well that end well. The new tube fit fine and only set me back about two hours of building!
