Brief Description: Mounting & Rigging The Throttle Cable - Part 1
Turns out there is a special boss on the oil sump for mounting a throttle control cable mount. The catch is that Van's supplies two 1/4-24 bolts that ARE NOT drilled for the required safety wire!!! Yeah, that's right - you have drill a #52 sized hole all the way through the head of the bolt!! I was SURE that I was going to break off about 100 drill bits trying to do that, not to mention screw over a couple dozen bolt heads. In reality, I did both bolts perfectly on the first try and didn't even break the drill bit! Yeah, I have no idea how I did it.
The throttle control cable installation is pretty straightforward and went smoothly. Rigging was also pretty easy. The control works very nicely and I have full control with no binding in both the front and back seats.
