Brief Description:  Fuel Pressure Probe Installation & Wiring - Part 1

The EIS-4000 engine monitor and the Matronics FuelChec DX each have their own fuel pressure transducer. I mounted them both to the transducer tree on the firewall and was able to share the fuel pressure hose coming from the mechanical fuel pump on the back of the engine. It took a variety of special fittings to go from the 1/2" NPT on the FuelChec PSI transducer to the 1/4" NPT fitting on the transducer tree. I added a clamp screwed to the firewall to support it since it was hanging out there quite a ways. The EIS-4000 uses a VDO fuel pressure transducer and it screwed directly into the transducer tree. Wiring was pretty straightforward. I connected a regulated output from the air compressor to an external meter then to the transducers. I was to calibrate both transducers pretty easily.
