Brief Description:  Engine Baffle & Bracket Assembly - Part 1

Once the front IO-390 replacement baffles were fit and fabricated, the whole front baffle structure had to be assembled. This involved using either the premade angles from the baffle kit or making new ones to fit around the new baffles pieces.

I'm particularly proud of the cutout around the prop governor. To make sure that the baffles would be removable, I had to split the front left baffle down the middle of the hole cutout for the prop governor. I added platenuts and screws to the front piece of the baffle so that it could be removed. The back piece is then fairly easily removed from around the back of the prop governor. I was able to get a perfect 1/4" gap around the prop governor put into the baffle. This will be sealed up with some rubber baffle material later.

There were also a myriad of other little brackets to be added to the sides and back of the rest of the baffling. Most of these attached to the engine with 1/4-20 screws. The baffling is very solidly attached to the engine now.
