Brief Description:  Alternate Air Door Installation - Part 2

As a part of the GRT electronic Engine Information System (EIS), I have a small probe that is used to measure the carburetor temperature. This can give the pilot a heads up that icing conditions may be close or already occurring. Normally carburetors have a 1/4-20 hole predrilled and tapped for such a probe. Unfortunately, the Precision EX throttle body does not. So, I did the next best thing and drilled and tapped a hole in the lower portion of the snorkel right at the inlet of the throttle body where the fiberglass is pretty thick. The air is compressed here, although not as much as inside as throttle body itself, but it should give at least relative readings on the air temperature conditions.
