Brief Description:  Bulkheads, Amenities & Cable Conduits - Part 01

Lots of things got taken care of this weekend. The fuselage rear turtle deck bulkheads all got filed and trimmed and primered and riveted in. Some of the angle stiffeners were recoverable from the old fuselage, but some weren't and had to be fabricated. Over all the bulkhead installation came out nearly perfect.

I installed the headphone jacks, rear seat post lighting, and rear seat lighting switch. All came out nearly perfect. The holes for the three on the right hand side are perfectly spaced vertically, but because the diameter of the various items are different, the spacing looks a little off. Mostly the switch seems "high" to me. But, its not, its perfectly spaced. Sometimes the eyes lie.

The other MAJOR accomplishment this weekend was the completion of all of the wiring conduit holes and bushing inserts. Since there is wiring all over the inside of the fuselage, there are tons of these holes that need to be located and drilled. It was easier this time since I didn't have to "wonder" where they should go. I just predrilled and installed bushing in all the locations I already knew where wiring is going to go. This time, I made most of the holes about twice the previous size. This might allow the back pulling of connectors though in the future if that should become necessary. I'm also going to try to build and install the various cable assembles such that they will always be in natural groupings that would make sense to pull out together. On the old fuselage, wires just kind of went where ever they needed to go without much planning. This time, I already know exactly what wires will go where, so I should be able to make premade harnesses and simply pull the whole harness in at one time, rather than doing everything one wire at a time. This should be much quicker and, in theory, easier to pull out in the future if necessary.
