Brief Description: Wiring The Righthand Console - Part 02
One mistake I made on Ruby Vixen 1.0 was making the wires going to this Righthand Console TOO SHORT! It was a nightmare trying to get it out for service once the top fuselage skin was installed along with the rollbar and windshield. So, this time, I made sure there was plenty of service loop in all of the cables going to the Console. I additionally added DB9 connectors going to the headphone jacks so that the whole console could be removed easily if necessary.
Overall, version 2.0 of this Righthand Console came out much better than 1.0. Longer service loops not withstanding, just the quality of all the terminations are far superior in quality and appearance (and they were pretty nice the first time). The DB25 connector going to the Intercom (gold box) and the myriad of wires and coaxial audio wires are much more orderly and not nearly as "ratsnest-y" this time around.
As usual, every wire has a heatshrink label indicating just what and where the wire goes.
I have to say, this really feels like some progress on the 'ol Ruby Vixen rebuild!! Yeaa!
