Brief Description:  Wiring Up The Wings - Part 1

The wings have quite a few electrical items that each require their own set of wires, connectors, and connectivity to the VP-200 electrical system. Since the wings are mounted, it was a good time to get all of the wires connectorized and all of the various things tested out. On the right wing, there is the Landing Light, the Green Position Light, and the Strobe. On the left wing, there is all of that (except the Position light is RED) plus the power for the Pitot Tube Heat and four wires for the pitot Status Lines. Everything is labeled, connector pins added, soldered, and then connected via the weather-proof connector housings.

As you can see from the photos, everything is working as advertised! Yahoo! The first four pictures are actually from a couple of weeks ago and detail the installation of the conduit for pulling the wires through the wing. The conduit allows additional wires to be pulled in the future if necessary. With the bottom skins now riveted in place, there would be no access to pull additional wires if it became necessary had the conduit not been used.

In the lights-on pictures, there is a picture of the position and landing light on and then the subsequent picture is a second later when the strobe fires. You can tell just how bright those bad boys are!
