Since there is barely any electrical capacity and certainly no plumbing in the new RV-8/RV-4 hanger out at Livemore, I was faced with a stressful situation. Since I find myself ever increasingly more compulsive about washing my hands and keeping things clean and tidy, the thought of having to work on a dirty 'ol airplane without any nearby facilities was fairly unacceptable. The nearest restroom is two hanger rows over and a brisk walk and too far for being compulsive.
I turned to my friend the Internet once again and did some judicious Googling and found this company called "Ozark River" http://www.ozarkriverportablesink.com who specialize in manufacturing completely self-contained sinks complete with cold AND hot running water! I went with a Model OZA-ORADV-SS1D which includes a full deep stainless steel sink, drain board and two 5 gallon tanks under the sink - one for fresh, potable water, and another for the waste water. There is a pressure sensitive, electric water pump under the sink that detects whether the valve is open or closed. If the facet is turned on, the pump turns on. When the facet is turned off, the pump stops. The pump turns on and off based on the pressure and flow of the water. Its a really cool system. In addition to that, on the hot water side, the water is run through a heater coil that instantly heats the water as it passes through the coil - and it really works!
Over all, the sink, roll-about cabinet, and fancy electrics are very nice and I would highly recommend the system to anyone that would like some creature comforts in their remote location. I found a really good deal on it at the Restaurant Equipment World (REW) here: http://www.restaurantequipment.net It took about 2 weeks to arrive since each unit is custom built and then was shipped via UPS freight.
